Mayor Chris Amorose Groomes is a life-long Dublin resident and owner of Amorose Landscape Services, a horticultural consulting firm that specializes in training and plant health management for corporate clients throughout the Midwest. She was voted mayor Jan. 6, 2020 by her peers on Council after having served a two-year term as vice mayor. Prior to her election to City Council, Groomes served eight years on the Dublin Planning and Zoning Commission, six of those as chair.
Groomes’ devotion to public service has included volunteering on the board of directors for Young Life Metro Columbus, which serves more than 40 high schools in Central Ohio. She also coached the Coffman High School junior varsity girls’ basketball team, was a Big Sister with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio and volunteers annually on the flower-planting crew at the Memorial Tournament benefiting Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
In 2019, she was honored as a Friend of Public Education by the Ohio School Boards Association Central Region for her demonstrated record of supporting public education.
She is a 1989 graduate of Dublin High School and a 1993 graduate of The Ohio State University, where she studied horticulture and agricultural business. Her free time is spent enjoying her family, working in her yard and garden, and playing soccer in a co-ed over-40 league.
Mayor Amorose Groomes and her husband, Kevin reside in Muirfield Village with their sons Tyler and Tucker.
