Columbus, OH – The Ohio Mayors Alliance, a bipartisan coalition of mayors in Ohio’s largest cities, has launched a new podcast series titled “Local Solutions. Statewide Impact.” The monthly podcast will feature mayors from both parties discussing the challenges and opportunities of Ohio’s cities and the importance of working together to get things done.
“This podcast will bring to life the saying that there are three parties in this country, Republicans, Democrats, and Mayors,” said Ohio Mayors Alliance Executive Director Keary McCarthy. “It will illustrate the no-nonsense leadership style of Ohio’s mayors and highlight innovative policy solutions happening in cities across the state.”
The Ohio Mayors Alliance podcast is hosted by Emmy-award winning journalist Scott Light, the former evening news anchor in Atlanta, Phoenix, and most recently the CBS affiliate in Columbus (WBNS-10TV). Throughout the series, listeners will hear from new mayors and mayors who have been leading their communities through some difficult years. The discussions will cover policy, politics, and the importance of collaboration and bipartisanship.
In the first episode – One Pothole, Two Mayors, and 50 Years of Service – Light sits down with two recently retired mayors: former Kettering Mayor Don Patterson and former Lima Mayor David Berger. Throughout the conversation they discuss local leadership, partisan politics, and their combined five decades of service to their communities.
