A bipartisan group of Ohio’s big city mayors convened a luncheon on Feb. 28, 2017 with state lawmakers from both chambers and both sides of the political aisle.
The focus of the luncheon was to discuss ways that state and local leaders can work together on building stronger communities, fighting the heroin epidemic, and strengthening the state economy.
Over 50 state lawmakers attended the luncheon, which including 28 House Republicans, 18 House Democrats, as well as 9 Senate Republicans, and 6 Senate Democrats. Senate President Larry Obhoff (R-Medina) and House Minority Leader Fred Strahorn (D-Dayton) sat with the Ohio Mayors Alliance Board members.
In addition to the planned agenda, the two legislative leaders briefly addressed the crowd and highlighted the important role of the Ohio Mayors Alliance in helping to connect state and local policymakers.
