Strong cities make a stronger Ohio, but our success depends on having strong local, regional, and statewide cooperation.
Cities are the epicenters of metro- and micropolitan regions and anchor of the important networks of businesses, employers, local governments, and communities that power Ohio’s economic success. Ohio’s metro economies are home to 83.8 percent of the state’s jobs and that share is expected to grow to 84.1 percent by 2023. These regional economies generate over 90 percent of Ohio’s wage income as well as 87.2 percent of the real gross state product (GSP).
