Membership Meeting – March 2019

Among the activities for our first meeting of 2019, the Ohio Mayors Alliance presented House Speaker Larry Householder and House Minority Leader Emilia Sykes with the Ohio Mayors Alliance Commonsense Governing Award for their bipartisan leadership on passing House Bill 62 to help address Ohio’s transportation funding shortfall.
The group participated in the Complete to Compete Luncheon at the Statehouse to learn how mayors can help encourage college completion on the local level. Toledo’s work to provide universal pre-K was highlighted. The Mayors Alliance hosted both a press conference to discuss the transportation budget and academic distress commissions as well as a reception for mayors to socialize with state lawmakers and staff.
