Annual Membership Meeting — December 2025

The Ohio Mayors Alliance held its December Membership Meeting on December 11 in Columbus, bringing together mayors and key partners to discuss priorities shaping the future of Ohio’s cities. Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther opened the meeting, followed by presentations highlighting statewide and national partnerships critical to municipal success.
Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith and America–Ohio 250 Commission Director Todd Kleismit shared how communities are preparing to leverage Ohio’s upcoming 250th anniversary to strengthen civic engagement and unity. JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef provided an economic development update, emphasizing opportunities for cities to partner in driving growth and investment. Dublin Mayor Chris Amorose Groomes also introduced Hajime “Jimmy” Kishimori, Consul General of Japan in Detroit, underscoring the importance of international relationships to Ohio’s local economies.
The agenda also featured a bipartisan luncheon panel with outgoing mayors Peggy Lehner, Jeff Mims, Mitch Rhodus, and Tito Brown, reflections from Signal News CEO J. Rita McNeil Danish on local nonprofit journalism, and mayor-led discussions on housing, homelessness, and public safety partnerships. The meeting reaffirmed the Alliance’s commitment to collaboration, informed advocacy, and strong municipal leadership across Ohio.
